The Intimacy Cafe
The Intimacy Cafe
A monthly gathering for open, honest conversations about intimacy and sexuality.
In a fast-paced world and especially in an international city, where people come and go, it can be hard to find the kind of deep, meaningful conversations we truly long for.
We scroll, connect, and date, yet many of us still feel a quiet sense of disconnection from ourselves and from others.
Sex and intimacy are everywhere, and seemingly everything is allowed. Yet many people feel confused about what they actually want, what feels right for them, or how to talk about it.
Between the pressure to be “liberal and open” and the fear of being judged or too much, it’s easy to feel lost.
The Intimacy Cafe is a monthly space to slow down and talk about these things — honestly, without shame or pretence.
Together we explore themes around intimacy, sexuality, relationships, and connection. Each session includes a short guided reflection, a few gentle prompts, and open sharing. You’re welcome to speak or simply listen.
Come as you are — curious, unsure, reflective, or just wanting to connect.
You might leave feeling a little lighter, more seen, and reminded that you’re not alone.
🕯️ When: Every first Tuesday of the month, 19:30–21:30
📍 Where: My practice space in Maastricht
👥 Group size: Max. 8 participants (all genders)
💶 Sliding scale:

Roles & communication
Not performative, not perfect — but personal.
How much do you really know about your own relationship to sexuality? Have you heard a lot about sex but sometimes wonder what is true and what is myth? Do you sometimes feel unsure about what you want or are curious to step out of your comfort zone?
In this 3-hour workshop at Dotnsquare Vintage, we invite you to explore your own experience of sexuality, intimacy, and desire. We’ll blend open conversations, self-reflection exercises, and paired reflections. You choose whether you want to share, what to share and what to keep private.
Through reflection, dialogue, and a few playful myths debunked along the way, we’ll explore:
✨ What and who shaped our view on sexuality
🌀 How we give, receive, take, and allow — and what roles feel most natural
🗣️ How to communicate about our needs and desires
💬 And how all of this relates to our sense of self, connection, and freedom
This workshop is experiential, inclusive, and beginner-friendly — whether you’re feeling curious, confused, or just ready to explore with more care. People from all kinds of background and sexual orientations are welcome. The focus will be on you self-inquiring, no matter your starting point. Come as you are with and open and curious mind.

”Klara gave a sex education workshop “Lets talk about intimacy” at The Social Hub Maastricht. The workshop lasted around 2.5 hours but if it lasted 2 hours more I would have been even more happy. So interesting to talk about these topics and learning at the same time. So def coming back!
She really created a safe space for our group of 8 people and she made it easy for us to share and feel comfortable doing that. Learned a lot and reflected a lot💝”
Natalia
“Had a great, informative and session with lots of new insights and perspective. Klara makes everyone feel comfortable and has great energy! Something I had never done before so it was a great first experience.”
Jay
“I really appreciated your approach. It felt grounded, factual, and scientifically informed, with data, accuracy, and clear references — the PhD in you truly comes through. The exercises were engaging and participative without ever putting less experienced participants in an uncomfortable position. You created a space that felt genuinely caring, relatable, and safe. I learned new concepts and perspectives and even wished we had more time to explore the second part of the workshop. I’d love a follow-up session.”

Open Relationship Inspiration
Open Relationship Inspiration
Workshop
Opening your relationship or exploring polyamory can be beautiful, but with so many options and possibilities, it’s easy to lose sight of what works for you. Consciously exploring what kind of relationship you want can be confronting. How do you deal with the abundance of connection, crushes, jealousy, insecurities, coming out, communication, attachment, and let’s not forget… trying to schedule dates into an already packed calendar?
This workshop is for anyone who could use a little “open relationship inspiration”, regardless of whether you are already exploring or new to non-monogamy.Through different creative exercises, we’ll explore your stories, questions, and desires together. That might sound a little scary… but don’t worry! You’ll be guided step by step and only share what feels right for you. Together, we’ll create a special evening full of new ideas and insights.
Setting
This workshop takes place in Klara’s cosy practice space above the beautiful Brandweerkantine in the heart of Maastricht. You’ll be welcomed with a cup of tea and some nibbles. Throughout the evening, we’ll combine information, shared experiences, and guided exercises that invite you to explore what matters to you — your needs, wishes, boundaries, and challenges. After the workshop you’re invited to stick around for a little while for more conversation, if you feel like it.
Hosts
Facilitated by Sarai and Klara. Sarai (aka De Middelste Lepel) is a lifelong polyamorist, artist, and teacher who loves exploring love, desire, and communication with creativity and depth. Klara is a coach, couples counsellor and sex educator passionate about creating spaces of connection where people can have honest and real conversations about intimacy. Together, they bring warmth, openness, and curiosity to conversations about love, connection, and everything in between. In this workshop, they combine their perspectives to help you explore what truly fits you — beyond norms and assumptions.

Connecting across cultures
UM Wellbeing Week
When people from all over the world live, study, or work together, misunderstandings are bound to happen.
We all carry our own beliefs, norms, and communication styles — deeply shaped by the cultures we grew up in. But connecting across cultures also brings inspiration, exchange, and diversity.
It can open your eyes to entirely new ways of thinking, being, and seeing the world. In this workshop, you’ll learn more about different cultural norms, how they sometimes clash, and more importantly, how to navigate them with awareness so you can experience the beauty of intercultural exchange.
You’ll also reflect on your own cultural background, share stories, and practise connecting and finding community in diversity, right there in the room. In this interactive and playful workshop, we’ll explore:
What culture is and how it quietly shapes our values and behaviours
Where misunderstandings happen — and how to meet them with curiosity
How we can connect across cultural differences with empathy and awareness
How sharing stories across cultures can build connection and community
This workshop is designed to kickstart your connections for the coming year. Come as you are — just bring an open mind and open heart.
About me: Having lived, loved, and worked in international environments for over 10 years, this topic is close to my heart. I’ve personally gained so much from being in intercultural environments, and I’m excited to help others find their sense of belonging abroad.

New Eyes, New Perspectives
Seeing through new eyes
A creative exploration of our changing world
Have you ever felt overwhelmed by the state of the world — climate change, social crises, or the sense that things are moving too fast to fully grasp?
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) give us an important framework for the change our world needs. But how are we, as people, supposed to keep up with all this change? Sometimes it feels like the outer world is moving at a pace that our inner world can barely follow.
This is where the Inner Development Goals (IDGs) come in — a framework designed to help our inner world thrive in a world that’s constantly changing.
Curious? Then join me for my next workshop at The Social Hub Maastricht.
You’ll get to know the IDGs and take part in an experiential evening where we explore our changing world from a completely different angle — one rooted in imagination, storytelling, and perspective shifts. Together, we’ll step into new ways of seeing the world: human and beyond-human.
Through reflection, creative exercises, and collective exploration, you’ll experience what it means to connect more deeply with others, with nature, and with yourself in times of change.
This workshop is for anyone curious about sustainability, creativity, nature, or simply being human in a world of constant transformation.
No prior knowledge needed — just bring your curiosity and an open mind.
✨ Come as you are, and leave seeing the world a little differently
